What is the Difference Between a Cross Rollerball Pen and Cross Gel Pen?

Have you ever wondered what the different is between the A.T. Cross Company Gel Pens and Rollerball Pens?  Us too!

So - this may come as a shock but when we asked our contact at the A.T. Cross Company, the answer is that there is NO difference between the two!  Rollerball Pens and Gel Pens are actually the same exact thing.

"Rollerball" and "Gel" are just two inter-changeable terms which are used to describe pens that use the roller ball writing method.  This method uses a rolling ball which gets coated with a  water-based or gelled ink.  This special kind of ink is what makes it so much darker than Ballpoint Pen ink.

There you have it!  Rollerball Pens and Gel Pens are the same thing.  However, they are different than Ballpoint Pens due to the type of ink that is used.
